Rockwell Collins donates Virtual Avionics Procedures Trainer to UND
Rockwell Collins recently donated the Virtual Avionics Procedures Trainer to UND for both training, research and general collaborative purposes between Aviation, Computer Science and Engineering. Located in Ryan Hall simulator area, the VAPT is a touch screen trainer with a nice outside visual package included. It is currently configured with the King Air 350 software package.
The trainer may be used for FMS training, EFIS training, airline/CRM training as well as cross-disciplinary research and training as well. The VAPT is a state-of-the art device that will be available for students across several academic departments.
Aviation Professor Nick Wilson is developing a course to utilize this technology.
